Today I finally got my $50 USD rebate in the mail from Western Digital. It was for a hard drive I bought from Futureshop on boxing day. It seems like a really long time to wait for a rebate, as during the last five months I could have invested that $50 in something worthwhile.<\/p>\n
The problem with the whole thing started when I bought the hard drive online from their boxing day ad. I purchased it as soon as the ad came online which was midnight EST. The thing was, on the invoice or receipt it said 9PM PST. So when I sent the rebate in the first time Western Digital complained back to me that the hard drive wasn’t purchased in the time period that the rebate was available. So I told futureshop the problem and they told me just to complain some more to Western Digital. This wasn’t what I would call excellent customer service. So I ended up writing a letter explaining my situation and sending that in with my rebate again, probably 2 months ago.
