{"id":426,"date":"2009-10-20T22:36:18","date_gmt":"2009-10-21T04:36:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.demyen.ca\/blog\/?p=426"},"modified":"2009-10-20T22:48:03","modified_gmt":"2009-10-21T04:48:03","slug":"borderlands","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.demyen.ca\/blog\/?p=426","title":{"rendered":"Borderlands"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On the spur of the moment given the opportunity to save I picked up Borderlands for the Xbox 360. \u00c2\u00a0 As had already been seen once before with the launch of Batman : Arkham Asylum, Borderlands was introduced at a very cool $39.99 (Canadian Dollars!).\u00c2\u00a0 Wal-mart Canada appears to have started off this (limited time\/limited quantity) pricing strategy but have been matched by Future Shop and Best Buy.\u00c2\u00a0 This kind of launch will not only spur a whole lot of sales but may also bring about a new way to release games.\u00c2\u00a0 The traditional model of the past has always been to release the game for a lot, and then after a long while slowly bring the cost down possibly in the form of a greatest hits packaging.\u00c2\u00a0 With the huge commercial success of Batman, which is sure to be followed by Borderlands, a new model has been created.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 Reports are coming in across Canada about the game selling out and stock moving very fast across store shelves.<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"http:\/\/rcm-ca.amazon.ca\/e\/cm?lt1=_blank&#038;bc1=000000&#038;IS2=1&#038;bg1=FFFFFF&#038;fc1=000000&#038;lc1=0000FF&#038;t=matthewdemyen-20&#038;o=15&#038;p=8&#038;l=as1&#038;m=amazon&#038;f=ifr&#038;md=07AN74PQXHR1PJRCZ582&#038;asins=B000WMEEB2\" style=\"width:120px;height:240px;float:right\" scrolling=\"no\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Lets not forget about the real winner of the day, Borderlands!\u00c2\u00a0 The game is actually very well done and seems fresh.\u00c2\u00a0 The game can be quickly described as a Action FPS RPG.\u00c2\u00a0 The game takes the shape of the traditional FPS but puts together a string of tasks and weapons that follow the structure of an RPG.\u00c2\u00a0 The game is said to contain 100&#8217;s of thousands of unique weapons.\u00c2\u00a0 The game can be played solo but from most opinions it is best played with 4 friends in online coop.\u00c2\u00a0 Early reviews are giving the game an 8 &#8211;
