{"id":307,"date":"2007-04-16T17:50:52","date_gmt":"2007-04-16T23:50:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.demyen.ca\/blog\/?p=307"},"modified":"2007-04-16T17:53:17","modified_gmt":"2007-04-16T23:53:17","slug":"friday-the-13th","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.demyen.ca\/blog\/?p=307","title":{"rendered":"Friday the 13th"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On April 13th 2007, I was at the Exchange in Regina.\u00c2\u00a0 A $10 ticket got me in to support my friend&#8217;s band <a href=\"http:\/\/www.soundclick.com\/thefifthdawn\/\">The Fifth Dawn<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 They were opening along with Stillseed and Itchy Stitches.\u00c2\u00a0 The main acts were <a href=\"http:\/\/www.anonymusmetal.com\/\">Anonymus<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.unexpect.com\/\">Unexpect<\/a>, both French bands from Quebec.\u00c2\u00a0  I had only heard Fifth Dawn prior so it would be a good introduction to a number of bands.<\/p>\n<p>The show started off with The Fifth Dawn, which once again put on a really great show.\u00c2\u00a0 I believe they played a few new songs along with the ones I have heard before.\u00c2\u00a0 I really liked the sound of the band and the music was complex and kept me entertained.\u00c2\u00a0 I&#8217;m not a great fan of the vocals, but at least the music was spectacular.\u00c2\u00a0 It should be awesome to hear them open for Dying Fetus at the upcoming show in the Riddell Center.\u00c2\u00a0 After this was Stillseed, and their shirtless (hairy) bassist.\u00c2\u00a0 Not bad performance, kind of interesting.\u00c2\u00a0 After this was Itchy Stitches.\u00c2\u00a0 I wasn&#8217;t impressed by the singing from their female lead vocals or the music coming from the rest of the band so I took shelter near the back.\u00c2\u00a0 They also seemed to try to tell jokes or stories or something, which completely made the whole thing seem out of place and awkward.<\/p>\n<p>Finally the big names took the stage and Anonymus put forth some really powerful music and I was thoroughly impressed.\u00c2\u00a0 It was also good to see some new languages being sung, like English, French, and Spanish.\u00c2\u00a0 Good presentation and I liked the uniforms they had.\u00c2\u00a0 Next up on stage was Unexpect.\u00c2\u00a0 They put on such a great performance, their music was unique and diverse.\u00c2\u00a0 They incorporated so many elements into their songs that it was such an experience.\u00c2\u00a0 Also it was nice to see some actual singing ability up on stage for a change.\u00c2\u00a0 The huge bass with 9 strings looked very impressive and the violin brought forth some unique sounds that actually worked with their music.\u00c2\u00a0 I have to say that before the show I have never heard of Anonymus or Unexpect, but now I might consider buying their CDs.\u00c2\u00a0 I look forward to hearing more from them in the future.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On April 13th 2007, I was at the Exchange in Regina.\u00c2\u00a0 A $10 ticket got me in to support my friend&#8217;s band The Fifth Dawn.\u00c2\u00a0 They were opening along with Stillseed and Itchy Stitches.\u00c2\u00a0 The main acts were Anonymus and Unexpect, both French bands from Quebec.\u00c2\u00a0 I had only heard Fifth Dawn prior so it &hellip; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.demyen.ca\/blog\/?p=307\" class=\"more-link\">Continue reading <span class=\"screen-reader-text\">Friday the 13th<\/span> <span class=\"meta-nav\">&rarr;<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[2],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-307","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-general"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.demyen.ca\/blog\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/307","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.demyen.ca\/blog\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.demyen.ca\/blog\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.demyen.ca\/blog\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.demyen.ca\/blog\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=307"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.demyen.ca\/blog\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/307\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.demyen.ca\/blog\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=307"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.demyen.ca\/blog\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=307"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.demyen.ca\/blog\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=307"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
