Frogger

Last night I bought Frogger on the Xbox Live Arcade. I thought it was really good. It cost me 400 Microsoft points or around $6 or so. The game itself is a port of the original arcade game with more features added on. I could see myself playing it a lot since it is really nice to just be able to pick up and play without having to get into it. In case you don’t know, Frogger is a very simple game where you are a frog. The objective is to make it across a street and a river and get to the other side. The main challenges are the criss-crossing of traffic, logs, and lilly-pads. This may sound simple but as you progress it speeds up and other obstacles start appearing such as snakes. Overall I would give this Live Arcade game an 8/10!

Wednesday

This is normally the middle of the week but since I have Friday off it is actually just past half. White City vs. Capital Chargers tonight should be interesting. Capital Chargers are a really good team and have beaten us twice so far. Hopefully we will be able to get a good preformance, I believe some of our players will not be around though.

Today is going to be a big day for the red paperclip guy. He is in Kipling finalizing the trade for his house. It has been one year to the day that he started his trading scheme project. I have a feeling this fad tourism that Kipling is going to generate will be good for their local economy. It’s probably hard for them to attract people that far away from anything since it is in the middle of nowhere. I have a hard time believing the guy will actually live in the town. Whatever he decides to do, its amazing what you can do with a paperclip.

Huge Win

Last night White City played QC U18. We won the game 7 to 0. We had a two subs so we definetly had a good turn out. Also, the fact that the other team was an under 18 team helped out too. So, with this win and the default win last week wednesday our season looks to be turning around. Well, just kidding, for our team to have any sort of continued success we need to get lots of people out to games and keep the game simple.

Short Week

Monday is the beginning of another work week. For me, it is going to end on a Thursday due to my EDO. I plan on keeping myself busy with soccer games Monday and Wednesday. Next weekend is the country music down at Craven. I absolutely extremely dislike country so I have no plans on going out. Maybe I will go to Laserquest on Friday night for Ryan from Zeller’s birthday party. Should be fun times since laserquest is always a lot of fun. Maybe this time they will be able to spell ‘cheater’ correctly and not “cheer”.

Italia Wins

Italy finally wins the world cup. I have been a fan of Italy ever since the 1994 World Cup. Too bad back then they weren’t able to pull through and Baggio missed his penalty kick. This time around things were different. Buffon played excellent in net, and the defense in front of him was great. The video above is Zinedine Zidane headbutting Materazzi in the extra time. This resulted in a red card and France really missing out on one of their better penalty kickers. Italy then proceeded to capitalize on this by winning the game in penalty kicks. This is never the way I would want to win a game. I would much rather have seen it won in regulation time. I am of the opinion that the penalty kicks make it an individuals game and not a team game. It doesn’t matter now though. Italy wins!!

Empty Office

Today is the last day that the teachers will be working on my floor for the summer.  After today, they will go on a 2 month holiday and come back in late August.  Myself on the other hand will be working.  On Monday, the office will be very empty.  I expect that once you take away the teachers and the people on holidays, there will only be 4 people on the entire floor.  I have a feeling it is going to feel like I’m working on the weekend or something.  Maybe I could take my computer over by the window and get a good window office for a couple months.  I could knock a couple cubicle walls down and make a super office.  Dreams!!

Mark one up

Last night we were supposed to have a soccer game and this time it wasn’t our team that defaulted. Our team got its first win of the season with a default over CCFC. I believe we are lucky since they looked like they could have been a really good team. I am basing that off of the 4 players that they had playing during our little scrimmage for fun. The scrimmage by the way went pretty good. It was actually way too hot outside to be playing soccer. I felt like I was being melted by the sun. Another thing, 5:45 games are a terrible time to play. I get off work at 4:30 and get home by 5:00 and then once I get my stuff and drive back into Regina its almost game time. I would much prefer the 7:30 games since that way I would have time to eat something before I go out to play. Next game is Monday, July 10th, at 5:45 against QC U18.

Creative Day

Last night the IT people at my work switched over servers and upgraded all the users or something.  It seemed like everything was going good until I noticed that the network drives no longer had any of the files I was working on.  It seemed like they just copied over the folders names but none of the contents beneath them.  Without having this data, it makes my job a lot more difficult to do.  It basically means I am unable to do any work until they finish the copy over.  Luckily I don’t work on deadlines.  Tonight, hopefully, is another soccer game.  I am hoping that we will be able to play tonight since it has been a while since we actually played.  We are played CCFC so it could be an interesting game.

Post Canada Day

Well, it’s time to get back to work.  The super-long weekend went well and I enjoyed myself.  To recap, on Thursday night I saw Superman Returns.  I thought this was a very excellent superman movie.  I would definetly see it again.  On Friday, I played around with my new mp3 player.  I worked on Saturday. . .  yay time and a half.  On Sunday and on Monday, I must not have done anything since I can’t remember them.  Monday night we were suppose to have a soccer game but the field got double booked so we didn’t play.  We were suppose to play TAYSA U18, which is a team made up players from Emerald Park, Balgonie, Pilot Butte and area.  We would have had a good chance for the win.  With the weekend over, I have a 4 day work week, and then again next week another 4 day week (EDO). Fun fun.

My Creative Zen Vision M

On Friday I received got my Creative Zen Vision M in the mail.  I opened it up and was very impressed with the packaging.  After I got all the software installed and everything plugged in, I transferred over a bunch of music and some videos.  Next thing you know I’m watching Trailer Park Boys off the palm of my hand.  The size of the unit and the screen are very nice.  If the screen were any bigger then the whole unit would have to be larger.  I’m happy with the size, although it could have been a little bit thinner.  It is something like 0.7 inches wide, so it isn’t too bad.  I’ll have to see how well it works when I’m at work and listening to music.  I think I’ll be running into space problems fairly soon but I suppose that’d be alright. I’ll just have to spend time copying data back and forth more often then.  The 30gb hard drive is more than enough for the battery life.  The radio feature is pretty nice, although when I have all my favorite music why would I subject myself to that. I could see myself listening to the Wolf for their normally funny morning show.  Overall, I’m going to have to give it two thumbs up and my seal of approval.
